becca@foghead.com BioI am a student of metaphysics, the foundational branch of philosophy that is the study of reality... or, "what am I and what is everything else". It is a rather broad subject and goes hand-in-hand with epistemology (how do I know), followed by ethics, politics and aesthetics. I will use this space to periodically post concepts and considerations on related topics. If you are interested in more of a chronical of happenings, try Derek's journal: mace5000. I welcome and value all feedback, comments, complaints and discussion.
I am also a sailor, multiple home owner (Seattle and Lopez Island... water access only weekend retreat), occasional rally co-driver, and passenger (at this point) in our float plane. I particularly enjoy travel by bicycle, backpack and small boat. I recently transitioned to a new job after nearly 12 years through every sort of chaos and transition brought forth by the Web industry. I still love it. I can typically be found at the Merc on Friday nights.
